Jeremy has been with Camp Ninda since its inception and has held the role of Chair since 2023.
My role primarily is to organise and chair meetings and oversee the good work of the rest of the management team (luckily they’re not too unruly).
I also strive to listen to ideas and thoughts from the wider membership and, where possible, implement them. We’ve had some brilliant ideas over the years.
Secondary roles include being Chief Music Officer which is no easy task, as there is so much competition when it comes to DJs within the Ninda members.
I hope that, for new Camp Ninda members, our group feels like an extended family or a wider circle of fun friends.
Meet Sylvia Smith, the dynamic Vice Chair of NINDA! With a passion for the outdoors and a commitment to community, Sylvia has been an integral part of NINDA since day one. She thrives on fostering connections among members, helping everyone appreciate the beauty of nature while surrounded by friends and family.
Each year, NINDA grows stronger, and Sylvia plays a key role in making that happen. From unforgettable annual glamps filled with laughter to building lasting friendships, she believes in the power of togetherness. Sylvia is also dedicated to inspiring the next generation, encouraging young people to get involved and create their own outdoor adventures.
Join Sylvia and the NINDA family as they continue to explore, connect, and celebrate the great outdoors!
I joined Ninda in 2015 with my husband, Brian Edwards, and we haven’t missed a year since.
In 2022 and 2023, I had the pleasure of working with my mentor, Eva to help source and organise accommodation. When Eva stepped down as Chair in 2023, I joined the management team as Treasurer. I now look after accommodation planning, communication with attendees, payment collection for the event and activities, and the ongoing management of the accounts.
What I enjoy most about Ninda is the friendly, welcoming environment it creates—an opportunity for people to experience Caribbean culture, make meaningful connections, and enjoy the outdoors. Why not come and try us out? You won’t be disappointed!
Hi, I’m Dionne. As part of the management team, I coordinate activities and organize the quiz alongside Shemara. I’ve been involved with Glamp NINDA (formerly Camp NINDA) since its inception, when my Aunt Eva introduced the concept, and have participated in every trip.
This weekend is an opportunity to connect with family and friends, meet new people, and learn new skills. I look forward to traditions such as the group walk, epic parties, morning exercise classes, and sip-and-paint. Glamp NINDA offers experiences for all ages and over the years, I’ve discovered so much about myself through participating in and organising activities.
The friendships formed at Glamp NINDA are a testament to its welcoming community, which is why members return year after year. I’m proud to be part of the management team and seeing so many smiling faces during our activities/events is truly rewarding.
Rain or shine, we the management committee work hard to ensure an enjoyable experience for everyone.
I first joined NINDA in 2018 as a camper, and my family and I have camped every year since.
In 2022, I was elected during the AGM to represent the young people of NINDA. I now work with Dionne (Events Co-ordinator) to involve more youngsters in our weekend events.
I set up and manage the social media pages, and I also design, manage, and implement the merchandise for the camp.
I'm always open to ideas and suggestions for anything, so please get in touch if you have any ideas or burning questions! :)
Thank you!!!
First joined Ninda in 2011. I usually lead the walks on the Camp Ninda weekend and support the management team. I'm also responsible for the Ninda Web Site
Born in Nottingham to Jamaican parents, Kwabena has been a proud member of Nature Island, Dominica since day one. Often involved in leading excercise activities at NINDA glamping weekends, Kwabena is married, a father to two and lives in the Midlands.
Bernie has been one of the Footsoldiers of NINDA since its inception. She loves people, adventure, laughter, not taking herself or life too seriously, being authentic and meeting old and new friends and harnessing those connections through the long walks on NINDAs annual Countryside walks.
The richness of this weekend is one not to miss because of the unbelievable experience. Everyone I have invited, not only thoroughly enjoyed it, but want to return..
Key to that connection is ensuring that as part of the Management Team old and new members remain knowledgeable about 'How NINDA started' and 'Why we exist' ensuring that the legacy of this group is maintained....
Born in Roseau Dominica.
Raised in Wesley. A Londoner and a member of Ninda since day one, who loves the outdoors and the great feeling of community during our camping holidays.
