Clement Duffield Alick, affectionately known as Duffield, was a cherished member of the Camp NINDA community, serving as the club Secretary from 2018 until his untimely passing on August 29, 2025. His journey with NINDA began at its inception, and he played an integral role in shaping its vibrant spirit.
A true lover of the outdoors, Duffield found joy in walking and camping, relishing the beauty of nature. His passion for traditional camping was evident, and he playfully resisted the shift to glamping four years into NINDA’s evolution. This fondness for the great outdoors defined his character and endeared him to all who knew him.
Those who had the privilege of meeting Duffield often remarked on his gentlemanly demeanor. He was a steadfast presence at board meetings, always ensuring that every detail was noted and every action point was followed up. His diligence kept everyone on their toes, reflecting his commitment not only to the club but to the friendships he fostered within it.
Duffield participated in every NINDA walk, except for the very last one in 2025. Yet, true to his adventurous spirit, he still managed to ascend 120 steps with his Tai Chi teacher in the Peak District just weeks before his passing. This remarkable feat exemplified his enduring love for adventure and his commitment to staying active.
As we remember Clement Duffield Alick, we honor a life filled with kindness, passion, and dedication. His absence leaves a void that will be felt deeply by all of us at NINDA. RIEP, Duffield—your spirit will forever remain in our hearts, and you will be dearly missed.
